Mataw Guro Ben Geary has been training in the Martial Arts since 1994. He has several years experience in hand-to-hand combat and in the instruction of self-defense through the Martial Arts. He instructs Arnis De Mano, Awayan, and Sikaran. He is a 1st degree Black Belt in Sikaran, and a 3rd degree Black Belt in the Sanano Martial Arts System. He developed Filipino Martial Art Concepts which integrates Traditional Martial Arts with Modern Combatives. Guro Geary received a Certificate of Recognition through the United Fellowship of Martial Artists for receiving his Black Belt in Sikaran and promoting Filipino Martial Arts as well as being recognized as the Filipino Martial Arts School Owner of the year. Guro Geary was also honored with a Certificate of Appreciation through the World Sikaran Brotherhood of the Philippines and is a current member. Guro Geary has been a certified instructor through Grandmaster Sanano since 2010 and has been a Kasama through the Mataw-Guro Association since 2011. Guro Geary also trains in Martial Blade Concepts through Michael Janich. He received his Masters degree in Mental Health and has worked with youth in the Rapid City community for more than a decade. This allows him to use his skills with children to better instruct children that may have behavioral issues in the Martial Arts. His instruction follows in the steps of his trainers which emphasize individual development of self-discipline, awareness, and respect for self and others as well as the values and attitudes necessary for the proper application of the Martial Arts. He teaches the Bruce Lee Philosophy, “Learn to Fight, Not to Fight.”
Punong Guro Matt Geary has been training in the Martial Arts since 2007. He was taught by his father Punong Guro Ben Geary. He has been training students in self-discipline, self-respect, and how to defend themselves since 2017. He is currently a 3rd Degree Black Belt in Filipino Martial Arts Concepts as well as Arnis Stick Fighting. Guro Matt works in
Intervention through Rapid City Area Schools. He helps children with behavior challenges and academic challenges achieve their goals. He
applies these methodologies inside the Dojo as well. He is also a certified personal trainer and is currently finishing his college degree. He is married to the beautiful Erin Geary who he met through classes at the Dojo. He loves Martial Arts and the people he gets to train. He is the main instructor for the evening 4 and 5 classes.
My name is Ronald Bright. My two jobs in life currently are being a stay-at-home dad for my son and being a martial arts instructor. I have been married for almost seven years to my wonderful wife Brittney and together we specialize in women’s empowerment and self-defense. I have been training in varies forms of martial arts since I was eight years old. I was homeschooled and moved around a lot; I lived in 13 different states before I was 16. That is why family and community ties are so important to me. I plan to do monthly community volunteering to help my community and those in need. I am a certified personal trainer, who specializes in working with individuals with special health needs. Along with being certified in nutritional needs. Ronald is the main instructor for the Home school classes as well as the Sanano- Spearfish Classes
